Ways to Use Elderberry Syrup to Make These 10 Refreshing Summer Drinks

Getting in your daily dose of immune-boosting elderberry syrup just got super easy and incredibly delicious!

Building your immune system should be a year-long endeavor. That means not waiting until cold and flu season to start taking a daily dose of elderberry syrup.

Starting now puts you ahead of the game, and builds your line of defense against all of the nasties that start coming out as soon as there’s a chill in the air.

Getting in your daily dose doesn’t always mean the traditional spoon method either.

There are so many ways you can use elderberry syrup in your everyday foods and drinks.

You’ll be adding the delicious flavor of elderberries while getting in your daily protection, win-win!

Seriously though, the possibilities are endless! But first — let’s talk about why you should add elderberry syrup to your daily regimen (if you haven’t already).

What Are Elderberries?

Elderberries are gorgeous, immune-boosting berries packed with antioxidants, flavonoids, nutrients and vitamins.

They help tame inflammation, improve immune health, decrease stress and protect your heart.

They’re most known for their ability to reduce symptoms and shorten the duration of colds and the flu.

Did you know that elderberries are also linked to your gut health?

That’s right!

They contain a high amount of fiber which aids in digestion. A healthy gut means a healthy immune system

What’s not to love about elderberries? Just one simple daily dose of my elderberry syrup helps keep your family healthy, thriving and living life strong!

Sit back, relax and know you’re on top of your immune health game!

Top 9 Refreshing Summer Drinks

Easily boost your favorite drinks by adding one tablespoon of Organic Elderberry Syrup to the bottom of your cup and fill it with one of these delicious summer drinks!

1. Elderberry Lemonade

Elderberry Lemonade

One of my favorite summer drinks ever!

Try skipping the powders and premade lemonades. They’re usually loaded with sugar and artificial ingredients.

For homemade elderberry lemonade, add a splash of elderberry syrup to a cup of ice.

Then add the juice of one freshly squeezed lemon, and fill the remaining space in your glass with water.

The elderberry syrup adds the perfect touch of honey (one of the 7 ingredients in my organic elderberry syrup), so there’s no need for any added sugar. If it’s not sweet enough for your tastebuds, just add more honey to suit your preference.

2. Elderberry Iced Tea

Elderberry Tea

Nothing is as refreshing as iced tea on a hot summer day.

Brew your favorite iced tea, or even try making sun tea. It’s delightful!

Just add a splash of organic elderberry syrup to your cup and stir!

Another way to skip the added sugar?! You guessed it. Opt for sweetening with honey instead.

3. Sparkling Elderberry Water

Elderberry drinks

There are a lot of conflicting messages when it comes to sparkling water. Some say it’s a healthy option, others say the flavors or “essence” are derived from GMO plants.

It’s not a chance I’m willing to take.

So I thought, why not flavor regular sparkling water with something I KNOW is great for me, no questions asked.

Add your daily dosage to the bottom of your cup, and pour plain sparkling water over it. Yum! My kids can’t get enough of this and consider it a treat in the summer.

4. Easy Elderberry Spritzer

Elderberry Spritzer

Celebrate summer with this refreshing elderberry spritzer!

Light, crisp, and my go-to after a long day.

To make one, simply pour one serving of syrup at the bottom of a glass and top with your favorite sparkling wine. Super easy, right?!

5. Elderberry Mojito

Elderberry Sparkling Water

The perfect cocktail for those warm summer nights!

This refreshing and immune-boosting Elderberry Mojito is one of those drinks that you can’t just have one of.

Try mixing 1.5 ounces of elderberry syrup and 1.5 ounces of white rum muddled over mint leaves and lime, then topped with club soda or sparkling water.

Holy moly, just you wait!

6. Superfood Elderberry Smoothie

Elderberry Smoothie

If these captivating colors don’t convince you of how delicious this smoothie bowl is, the flavors certainly will.

Ingredients:

  • 2 frozen bananas (peel the bananas and freeze in slices beforehand)
  • 2 teaspoons organic elderberry syrup
  • ½ cup frozen strawberries
  • ½ cup frozen cherries
  • 1 ¾ cup coconut milk

Toss all ingredients into your blender, and blend away!

7. Elderberry Enhanced Kombucha

elderberry kombucha

Kombucha contains antioxidants and probiotics galore. It’s a staple in our home.

Whether you make your kombucha homemade or buy it from the store, adding a splash of elderberry syrup will take it to an entirely new level.

Just try it and see for yourself!

You can get even crazier and add fresh fruit like blueberries or sliced strawberries.

8. Elderberry Infused Juice

elderberry juice

I’m not a big fan of store-bought juice.

It’s no surprise that these juices on the shelves are usually artificially flavored and the amount of sugar in them is mindblowing.

However, there are some healthier options in stores nowadays. Just look for 100% organic juice with nothing else added, or try using a juicer for an even fresher option.

Elevate this naturally delicious juice with elderberry syrup, and provide you and your kiddos with even more vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants

9. Iced Elderberry Coffee

elderberry coffee

I recently started trying my organic elderberry syrup in my iced coffee. IT. IS. LIFE-CHANGING.

If you grab a flavored coffee at any coffee shop, 99.9% of the time, it’s going to be flavored with a syrup of some sort.

Syrups are full of artificial ingredients, GMOs, citric acid, and preservatives.

Skip all of that and choose sweet, natural, real, and antioxidant-rich elderberry syrup instead. It’s wonderful in hot coffee too if cold coffee isn’t your thing.

These 10 drinks are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the possibility of incorporating elderberry syrup daily into your favorite foods and drinks.
