2020: The Year of Change

Elderberry Queen's Family

This Year Has Been a Year of Adapting to New Situations

Just when you've settled into a routine, things change or get cancelled. This is no different from what's happening at home with the kids.

We now have all five boys home either distance learning or homeschooling. The schools have decided to make this change due to the uptick in COVID cases in the area. I'm thankful that I can stay home with them and empathize with all the parents that have to make changes to their work schedules to stay home with their kids.

It's hard to be pulled in two directions – both with work and the kids needing help with school.

In addition to the extra cleaning and meal prepping that has to happen when everyone is home all of the time. With the added stress, I have really enjoyed my few hours almost every day that I go to the gym. It gives me time alone and I get to recharge and regroup.

We are all going through very similar situations and we all need to continue to give others extra grace and know that we will get through this challenging time and hopefully come out stronger on the other side.

My boys are my "Why." As long as we focus on what is important and let go of what's not, then we will start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Even with the kids home most of the time, we still keep up with our daily elderberry syrup doses. At least THAT won't change!
